B A C K G R O U N D
As a kid, Sun grew up on a farm on the outskirts of her hometown, Gaoling. Both of her parents are hardworking and kind people. Her father, Do-Yun, taught her how to work the lands and to stay kind and respectful towards others no matter how they treated you. Her mother, Eun-Yeong, taught her how to pray to the spirits and how to paint. It turned out Sun was a good learner, and could both grow crops and make art; she learned to create her own paint by crushing rocks and using the grit mixed with water to get beautiful earthly tones. Of course Sun did experience some bumps along the way; when she tried to come out to her parents, they were hesitant about the situation, and she knew not to bring it up again. Two years later passed and she moved out to live in the city rather than outside of it, but she didn't leave on a bad note. The incident had put a dent in their relationship, but Sun still loved her parents nonetheless. In the city, Sun rented a small house with the space for a shop, and opened her own flower shop not a week later. She's still in the business today and now also serves fresh tea, made with herbs she plants herself alongside the flowers. On Saturdays she travels to some of the other cities in the Earth Kingdom to work on the market to sell both her flowers, some of her parents leftover greens, and art she's made herself.
