To the world Angel is a very outgoing, extrovert type of girl. She loves to be in the center of attention and especially in the attention of men, for which she likes to perform. Everything is always alright with Angel, she is never sad and she is never down. Always shinin, like a ray of sunlight. That’s just a mask she’s wearing. Because behind that wall of joy and happiness, there’s Emily Wayward, who is incredibly lonely and craving for someone to care about. It’s easy for her to trust the wrong persons, she’s naive and she never knows in what intentions people are speaking with her. Behind that, she is a very talented entertainer: she knows how to use her voice, she knows how to burlesque dance and she taught herself to use her bending as an art form, instead of a fighting form. Angel isn’t a fighter – in a war, she wouldn’t last for a second. She’s too vain to fight and rather let people fight for her. Angel can be a bit of a flirt, but most of the time, behind people’s expectations, she’s very prudish.



Emily Wayward is the daughter of entertainer Christina Wayward and a general in the army of the fire nation. Emily was never meant to be born – she was an accident and that’s why she never met her father. Christina chose to raise Emily on her own, especially when her father decided not to take care of her. Christina was working in a burlesque club in the capital city of the fire nation, where everybody could come (male or female, young or old) to just have a good night. It’s a place where people could get away from their problems, just have a drink and a laugh, while watching burlesque performers. Above the club, there was a small apartment, where Christina lived with Emily. Apart from being separated from her father, Emily had a normal youth. She wasn’t the brightest student at school: fire bending was hard for her, especially because she didn’t want to fight. When she finished school, her mother started to teach her how to use her bending as an art form – the art of fire. Finally, Emily found a talent. At the age of 16, she started working in the club where her mother worked, as a waitress. After a few years, she went up on stage, first only with her fire bending art and then also with singing and burlesque dancing. It made her quite a popular girl, even though she almost doesn’t leave the club. When she went on stage, she took the stage name “Angel”, because her mother always called her that. It became her second identity, to hide for her true feelings, the feeling that she is alone, even though she is surrounded by other people. She doesn’t know who her real friends are, people usually only talk to her because they want something from her. Life for Emily completely the other way around: she works at night, she sleeps all day. But it’s her life…and it makes her happy, for now.
